”Ferris Bueller, you’re my hero”


You remember that saying “Keep it in the family”? Well, the Bueller’s were doing just that, so to speak. At the time of filming, Cindy Pickett and Lyman Ward (the actors playing Ferris’ parents) were an item in real life; as were Jennifer Grey and Matthew Broderick (they play brother and sister in the film). I’m not sure what it means, but I can almost hear banjo music playing somewhere.

Once a geek, always a geek. Famous for playing nerds in earlier John Hughes films, Anthony Michael Hall turned down the role of Cameron because he feared getting typecast. Let’s see. Anyone remember what AMC did after 1986? Sometimes, my geeky friend, typecasting is better than no casting.

Did you know that Shermer, Illinois is not an actual town? GlenBrook North High School, which is where Hughes attended, is located on Shermer Road in Northbrook, Illinois.
