AVERAGE USER RATING
Take a look at the poster above. It’s a decent poster right? Julia and Richard, posing together, all the while laughing it up and having a grand old time. Well, I hate to break it to you folks, (ok, who am I kidding, I love to break it to you) that’s not Julia Roberts.
It’s her face, yes, but for some inexplicable reason, at least to me, they superimposed Julia’s head on to the body of model Shelley Michelle. In what cracked universe does Julia Roberts need to have a body double? It’s a mystery.
Did you know that the movie that was released was not at all reminiscent of the original screenplay for the film? In fact, the original film was supposed to be much darker in tone. It told the story of a misogynistic businessman who coerces a young drug addicted prostitute into staying with him for a week after which he dumps her back onto the streets. However, Gary Marshall and the producers decided to take the story in a different direction, and make it a romantic comedy. A good decision, I’d say. I mean, it’s a little difficult staging laughs around a coked out junkie hooker, at least outside of the Jerry Springer show.
