When Hollywood comes knocking, you had better be there to answer the door.
That's what the proprietors of Tiffany's learned when they had to open their doors on a Sunday to allow the production team to film interior shots. Something that hadn’t happened in more than a century.
Even though it was a role that she would be forever associated with, Audrey Hepburn apparently thought she had been miscast as Holly Golightly. In fact, it was an altogether different bombshell that was originally supposed to play the leading role. Truman Capote (the author of the book) had envisioned Marilyn Monroe as Holly. Due to conflicting schedules and an eventual move in the location of the shoot, Marilyn could not sign on to the project, leading to the casting of Audrey Hepburn.
