So what do you think was in the infamous black leather briefcase? There has been a lot of Internet speculation as to the contents and no one is quite sure if Quentin Tarantino has come out and publicly stated what it was supposed to be. However, I’ll give you some of the more popular theories.
One) One soul belonging to Marcellus Wallace. What’s that, you say? A soul? Yes, it does sound kind of wonky but it is indeed a persistent supposition. Let me explain. It is an ancient belief that when the devil takes a person's soul; it is “sucked” out through the back of their neck. Now, if you remember, Wallace has a band-aid in exactly that spot on the back of his neck. Adding to that, you have the combination to open the briefcase is 666. (Ving Rhames had a nasty scar on his neck, and that’s why the make up department decided to place a Band-Aid over it. Just try convincing the Devil-Soul people of that though. Good Luck)
Two) The other popular belief concerning the briefcase is that it was filled with diamonds. Of course, not just any diamonds, the same diamonds that were stolen in Reservoir Dogs.
